THOM SWEENEY

Luxury Menswear and Tailoring

London, UK – 2024

︎Illustration  ︎Print Design ︎Digital Design

Summary

I have been working with Thom Sweeney on a series of bespoke, hand-drawn illustrations created primarily for trunk shows and private client events worldwide. The work focuses on elevating event communications through illustration, adding a human, artisanal layer to both digital and printed materials while remaining aligned with the brand’s refined tailoring heritage.

The scope of work included:

  1. Event Invitation Illustrations: Created custom hand-drawn illustrations for trunk show and private show invitations, adapted for email campaigns, digital distribution, and high-quality print.

  2. Global Event Promotion: Developed illustration assets used to promote Thom Sweeney events across international locations, maintaining a consistent visual language while allowing for location-specific variation.

  3. Website Illustration: Designed an illustrative banner image for the brand’s website trunk show section, extending the event visual identity into the digital experience.

  4. Print and Digital Production: Delivered vectorized illustration assets optimized for flexibility across formats and platforms.

Goal

The goal was to create illustration-led event materials that feel timeless, refined, and unmistakably Thom Sweeney. Each illustration features a classic gentleman dressed in a Thom Sweeney tailored suit, set against a background inspired by the specific event location. This approach allowed each trunk show to feel personal while remaining part of a cohesive global system.
The illustration style was intentionally detailed yet raw, fully hand-drawn before being carefully vectorized. This process preserved the handcrafted quality of the artwork while ensuring scalability and consistency across digital invitations, printed materials, and web applications. The overall aim was to enhance event communications with bespoke imagery that reflects Thom Sweeney’s tailoring heritage and modern sensibility.

Client

Thom Sweeney is a British luxury menswear and tailoring house headquartered in London. Founded by Savile Row–trained tailors, the brand is known for its contemporary approach to classic tailoring, combining craftsmanship with understated modern design. Thom Sweeney operates internationally, hosting trunk shows and private appointments worldwide as a core part of its client experience.
