Summary
I developed the complete brand identity for Doubles, a private, invitation-only gaming app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Doubles is more than a digital platform. It is a social brand that hosts VIP backgammon tournaments at exclusive member clubs such as Zero Bond and collaborates with brands like Nar and Seal for high-profile social events.The scope of work included:

Branding and Identity Guidelines: Created a minimal yet distinctive visual identity that reflects Doubles’ refined, exclusive positioning. The core elements are understated and sophisticated, while select details introduce warmth and character to balance the brand. Comprehensive identity guidelines ensure consistent application across all mediums.

Custom Logo and Icon: Designed a fully hand-drawn logo and a unique “D” icon, crafted to work seamlessly as both a brandmark and a digital app icon. The design conveys exclusivity and precision while retaining a human, artisanal touch. Also designed the 3D animated version of the “D” icon, adding depth and movement for digital applications and promotional use.

Mascot Design: Introduced “Henry,” a playful otter mascot holding a Doubles cube. Henry adds a layer of personality to the brand, offering flexibility for event promotion, social media, and special campaigns without diluting the minimal core identity.

Physical Collateral Design: Designed premium branded items, including a custom physical Doubles cube and a bespoke presentation box used to deliver app invitations. Also developed a travel-size backgammon set, reinforcing the brand’s tangible connection to the game.
- App UX and UI Design: Designed the initial version of the Doubles gaming app, creating an intuitive and sleek interface that seamlessly integrates the brand’s visual identity into the digital environment.
Goal
The goal was to create a brand identity that positions Doubles as both an exclusive digital gaming experience and a high-end social brand. The visual language had to feel minimal, elegant, and timeless, while leaving room for moments of personality through Henry, the mascot. From the custom-crafted logo and “D” icon to the tactile presentation of invitations, every element was designed to embody quality, exclusivity, and the unique social culture Doubles represents.Client
Doubles was developed in collaboration with &LANA, a creative incubator based in New York and Dubai.
