SummaryI was engaged to develop a complete visual identity for The Corner Store, an upscale reinterpretation of the classic American diner, located at the iconic corner of Houston and West Broadway in SoHo, NYC. My role involved the following: Identity Guidelines: Created a cohesive and distinctive visual identity, blending nostalgic charm with modern sophistication. Comprehensive identity guidelines were developed to ensure brand consistency across all applications. Hand-Drawn Illustrations: Designed "Oli," a custom mascot for The Corner Store, which is integrated throughout the brand, from physical collateral to interior design, digital assets, and animations. Oli adds a playful and unique personality to the brand’s overall identity. Website Assets: Designed various illustrative assets for the restaurant's website, ensuring a seamless and engaging online presence. Collateral Design: Developed a wide range of brand collateral, including menus, cocktail stirrers, bottles, soap dispensers, cocktail garnish designs, matchbooks, promotional materials, plates and cups, coasters, business cards, ashtrays, and opening invitations. Each element was meticulously crafted to reflect the upscale yet approachable nature of the brand. Goal Our main goal was to create a visual identity for The Corner Store that feels welcoming and nostalgic while maintaining a sense of sophistication. We wanted every detail—from the logo to the color palette—to reflect the charm of classic New York City, combined with a playful, curated approach to food and drink. By focusing on high-quality design and an inviting atmosphere, we aimed to make sure the brand resonates with customers, giving them an experience that’s both memorable and authentic to SoHo’s vibrant character. SummaryI was commissioned to realign and refresh the brand identity for The Mercer, an iconic boutique hotel in SoHo, New York. Originally designed by Pentagram, The Mercer’s logo and visual system were due for an update that would retain the spirit of the original while elevating its precision and relevance. The scope of work included: Logo Refinement: Removed “Hotel” from the original wordmark and meticulously refined the typography, addressing spacing, proportions, and balance to enhance clarity and elegance. Applied the same level of detail to the hotel’s signature “M” icon, ensuring both marks work seamlessly across applications. Color System Redesign: Developed an entirely new color palette inspired by the hotel’s interiors. Conducted on-site exploration of the lobby, guest rooms, and other key spaces to create a palette that feels authentically tied to the physical experience of The Mercer. Collateral Redesign: Applied the refreshed identity to a broad range of collateral, from stationery, coasters, and packaging to in-room textiles and amenities. The new system unifies every guest touchpoint with subtle sophistication and elegance. Goal The objective was to modernize The Mercer’s visual identity while honoring its legacy. By refining the existing branding elements, introducing an interior-inspired color palette, and redesigning signature collateral, the identity now reflects the hotel’s cozy yet sophisticated ambiance, rooted in SoHo’s design-forward culture. SummaryI was engaged to develop a complete visual identity for OR’ESH, a modern Mediterranean restaurant in SoHo. The work encompassed bespoke branding elements, a custom vector texture system, refined collateral, and environmental applications throughout the space. The identity was designed to reflect the elemental philosophy of the restaurant, translating fire, light, and charcoal into a cohesive and elevated visual language. My role involved the following: Visual Identity: Designed the full brand system including logo, icon, typography, color palette, and comprehensive identity guidelines. A bespoke vector texture was developed to give the logo and icon a subtle fire-charred, ash-burned quality, reinforcing the restaurant’s elemental concept. Illustrations: Created custom illustrative distorted frames for the menu and key brand applications, adding a tactile and expressive layer that complements the warmth and movement of fire. Collateral Design: Designed high-end branded elements including the plates, menus, embossed leather menu covers, custom plates, embroidered fabric coasters, cocktail stirrers, tote bags, matchbooks, promotional materials, and other refined guest touchpoints. Each element was crafted to elevate the dining experience and align with Michelin-level aspirations. Environmental Design: Designed the exterior banner flag, exterior signage, and vinyl window graphics applied to the street-facing glass. These elements ensure the identity transitions seamlessly from the physical facade into the interior atmosphere. Goal The goal was to create a visual identity that embodies the essence of light and fire. The entire system is rooted in the sensory experience of flame and charcoal cooking, with colors derived from fire, ash, charcoal, and butter. Every element of the identity was designed to feel warm, grounded, and cohesive, forming a direct connection between the wood-fired culinary philosophy and the visual language. Particular emphasis was placed on the menu, as OR’ESH is positioning itself for Michelin recognition. The identity needed to support that ambition through detailed, bespoke collateral elements that elevate the presentation of the cuisine. The objective was to unify fire-charred technique and refined design into one singular, consistent entity, delivering a clear and powerful message to guests through every touchpoint. ClientOR’ESH is a modern Mediterranean restaurant located in SoHo, New York, operated by Catch Hospitality Group. The concept centers on charcoal-fired cooking inspired by Levantine traditions, with a focus on seasonality and technique. SummaryI was tasked with creating a comprehensive visual identity for the Italo-New Yorker restaurant/fine dining concept in southern France. My work encompassed the following key components: Identity Guidelines: Developed a distinctive visual identity, complete with comprehensive identity guidelines that serve as a roadmap for consistent branding. Hand-Drawn Illustrations: Crafted bespoke hand-drawn illustrations for use in both printed and digital assets, adding a unique touch to the brand's visual elements. Website Assets: Designed various illustrative assets for the restaurant's website, ensuring a seamless and engaging online presence. Social Media Animations: Engaging animations were created to enhance the restaurant's social media marketing efforts, captivating the online audience. Signage Design: Conceptualized and designed the signage to create a memorable physical presence. Goal The primary objective was to craft a luxurious and refined visual identity that perfectly captured the essence of the Italo-New Yorker restaurant in southern France. The elements we created, such as the logo and color palette, were meticulously chosen to evoke an elite ambiance. Additionally, the brand messaging emphasized the values of quality food and a warm, inviting atmosphere characterized by rich cherry colors. Ultimately, our goal was to deliver a consistent and compelling message that aligned with the core values of the brand. ClientItalian fine dining establishment located in the south of France, offering a unique fusion of Italian cuisine, New York music, and British art. The project focused on building a chic, grounded, and contemporary brand language that feels heavy, settled, and refined. The identity balances a strong hospitality presence with carefully considered artistic details, resulting in a visual system that feels sophisticated and timeless while remaining modern in execution. The scope of work included: Visual Identity: Designed the full brand system, including logo, logo mark, typography direction, and color palette. The identity centers around dark wine red and copper tones, creating a rich and elegant atmosphere that reflects a contemporary Asian dining experience with a confident and established presence. Collateral Design: Designed a wide range of branded elements, including custom plates, coasters, cocktail napkins, lighters, menus, hand fans, and additional guest-facing materials, ensuring consistency across all dining touchpoints. Illustrations: Created custom doodle-style illustrations used on menus and coasters. The illustrations introduce a subtle expressive layer that balances the heavier identity while maintaining the overall refined tone of the brand. Environmental Design: Developed selected environmental applications to extend the identity into the physical space, reinforcing a cohesive connection between brand and atmosphere. Goal The goal was to create a complete visual identity that positions AIMEE as a contemporary Sushi Club rather than a traditional restaurant. Inspired by the meaning of the name Aimee, “beloved,” the brand was designed to feel intimate, elegant, and memorable. The combination of deep wine tones, copper accents, strong typography, and bespoke details creates a unified visual language that feels grounded, sophisticated, and consistent across every touchpoint. SummaryI designed the complete visual identity for NAOA, a modern life club in East Hampton focused on wellness, sport, and community. The project encompassed the creation of a refined and contemporary brand system that reflects NAOA’s philosophy of longevity, balance, and meaningful social connection. The identity was designed to live seamlessly across physical spaces, digital platforms, and branded experiences. The scope of work included: Visual Identity: Designed the logo, icon, brand color system, and typography system, creating a cohesive and flexible foundation that feels premium, modern, and rooted in wellness culture. Environmental Design: Developed visual elements applied throughout the club’s physical spaces, ensuring the brand integrates naturally with the surrounding Hamptons landscape and architectural environment. Digital and Print Assets: Created branded materials across digital and printed formats, supporting member communications, programming, and on-site experiences. Collateral/Merch Design: Designed branded merchandise that extends the NAOA identity beyond the club and into members’ everyday lifestyles. Social Media Direction: Defined the visual direction for social platforms, establishing a consistent and aspirational presence aligned with NAOA’s values and community-driven ethos. Goal The goal was to create a visual identity that embodies NAOA’s vision of modern longevity and elevated wellness. Inspired by the concept of Blue Zones, the brand needed to communicate balance between physical activity, social connection, and restoration. The identity was designed to feel both aspirational and grounded, supporting NAOA’s positioning as a contemporary life club where sport, wellness, and community coexist naturally. ClientNAOA is a life club based in East Hampton, New York, dedicated to wellness, sport, and social connection. Rebranded as NAOA in 2024, the club draws inspiration from the world’s Blue Zones, regions known for longevity through lifestyle, community, and physical activity. SummaryThis project was a full rebrand of The Brooklyn Mirage, the iconic open-air venue at the heart of Avant Gardner in Brooklyn, NY. The scope included: Visual Identity and Guidelines: Created a new visual direction for the venue, including a custom-designed logo, fresh color palette, and carefully chosen typefaces that brought a renewed sense of character and clarity to the brand. Custom Logo and Icon: The new logo was entirely hand-drawn. "The" uses a classic script, while the condensed, minimal form of "Brooklyn" intertwines with it, capturing New York’s layered identity: historic yet contemporary, classic yet young. "Mirage" is more rounded and fluid, designed to feel like it’s in motion, evoking the visual sensation of a mirage. I also directed the logo to icon animation, brought to life by Scott Ahn. Collateral Design: Designed a full suite of branded collateral including hats, menus, and t-shirts. Each piece was crafted to align with the venue’s unique rhythm and presence, both visually and experientially. Goal The Brooklyn Mirage underwent a complete transformation, physically, sonically, and visually. Inspired by the grandeur of the world’s great opera houses, the venue was rebuilt from the ground up with a striking new design, including a monumental timber canopy, a fully kinetic shutter system in place of LED walls, and a precision-calibrated sound system designed to deliver a completely immersive experience. The new brand identity needed to reflect this rebirth. My goal was to create a visual language that matched the scale and ambition of the redesigned space: bold, architectural, and cinematic. Every detail of the new identity was crafted to echo the feeling of being inside the Mirage—expansive, intentional, and alive with energy. It was about more than just a logo. It was about capturing the feeling of stepping into a space where music, design, and community collide in real time. ClientThe Brooklyn Mirage is a landmark outdoor venue and part of Avant Gardner, a leading cultural complex in New York City. My work included the following: Visual Identity and Guidelines: Developed a distinctive visual identity for Heroes that balances fun with a sense of class. The identity guidelines were created to maintain consistency across all brand applications, ensuring that Heroes stands out in its unique style. Illustrations: Designed a series of custom illustrative assets, including bust illustrations of wine producers for the wine menu. These illustrations add a personal and artistic touch to the restaurant’s visual identity. I also created an organic, hand-made custom logo that perfectly complements the restaurant’s playful yet refined atmosphere. By combining artistic flair with high-quality design, we wanted to ensure that Heroes would offer a memorable dining experience that’s both hip and timeless. ClientHeroes is a contemporary restaurant located on the floor below Pearl Box at 357 West Broadway in SoHo, Manhattan.
